The University invites applications from the eligible candidates to fill up the following posts as Assistant Professor on contractual basis under various disciplines of this University. The proposed appointment will be made purely on contractual basis.

Assistant Professor (Engineering Discipline):- 99 Posts

  • Qualification:- B.E. / B.Tech and M.E. / M.Tech in relevant branch with 1st Class or equivalent either in B.E. / B.Tech or M.E. / M.Tech from a recognised
  • Desirable:- Ph.D in relevant discipline and/or published research papers in journals of high repute is desirable

Assistant Professor (Applied Science Discipline):- 24 Posts

  • Qualification:- Good academic record with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade at the Master’s degree in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. Should have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. Holders of Ph.D. degree, shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
  • Desirable:- P h.D in relevant discipline and/or published research papers in journals of high repute is desirable

NOTE:- For candidates who have completed Ph.D. degree directly after Graduation, the qualification of Master’s Degree shall not be insisted.

How to apply:- The complete application, in the prescribed form, duly filled in alongwith all the desired documents should be submitted in the University campus at the Reception Counter, Administrative Block on any working day OR sent by post, so as to reach the Registrar, Delhi Technological University, Shahbad Daulatpur, Bawana Road, Delhi-110042 latest by 20.05.2014 at 05.00 p.m.

General instructions:-

  1. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  2. Payment of consolidated remuneration to the contractual Assistant Professor will be based on the minimum of the pay in the Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100/- {i.e. Rs.15600/- plus AGP of Rs.6000/- plus DA (as applicable) only}. No other financial allowance/facilities exist for contractual appointees.
  3. Application Form must also be accompanied by attested/self attested copies of Educational and Professional Qualifications, Experience, Caste Certificate/PWD Certificate (in case claiming benefit of reservation).
  4. Prescribed Educational Qualifications are minimum & mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview, where number of applications received are more, the University reserves the right to short-list the candidates to be called for interview
  5. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates appearing for interview.
  6. If a class/division is not awarded at BE/B.Tech/UG, ME/M.Tech/PG, equivalent degree, a minimum of 60% Marks in the aggregate shall be considered equivalent to Ist Class/Division. If  a grade point system is adopted, the CGPA will be converted to equivalent marks and minimum CGPA shall be 6.75 in the scale of 10.
  7. If the qualification possessed by the candidate is equivalent, then the authority (with number and date) under which it has been so treated must be indicated and its copy may also be attached.
  8. The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the post advertised, no correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from the candidates regarding postal delays, conduct and result of interview and reason for not being called for interview.
  9. The number of posts advertised is provisional and can be varied as per the requirement of the University.
  10. Reservation benefits will be available to the SC/ST/OBC/PWD category candidates in accordance with the instructions / orders / circulars issued from time to time by the Govt. of Delhi. The reservation benefits under SC/STs shall be admissible as per judgment dated 12.9.2012 of Hon’ble High Court of Delhi as passed in No. 5390/2010, CM No. 20815/2010 – Deepak Kumar and Ors Vs District and Sessions Judge, Delhi and Ors. as per which SC/ST candidates of other States/UTs shall also be eligible for reservation benefit. However, this shall be further subject to policy decision of Govt. of Delhi for SC/ST migrants of other States.
  11. The OBC candidates must be in possession of his/her caste certificate issued by the Govt. of Delhi only.
  12. Application must be sent in the prescribed format only. The candidates applying for more than one discipline should submit separate application form.
  13. Incomplete/unsigned application/application without photograph/application not in prescribed proforma and those received after closing date shall be rejected.
  14. Candidates must ensure that their application must reach the University well in time. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss.
  15. The Educational qualification, age, experience and other conditions of eligibility as stipulated above against the post shall be determined as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
  16. Any dispute with regard to this recruitment will be subject to the Courts/Tribunals having jurisdiction over Delhi.
  17. Appointment to above posts is purely a stopgap arrangement and will be for the period specified above and subject to the conditions specified above.
